UNMH Pediatric Emergency Department to host free car seat fitting station

The UNM Hospital Pediatric Emergency Department, in collaboration with Safer New Mexico Now, will host a car seat fitting station July 3 from 9 a.m. -noon at Albuquerque Fire Department #3, 141 Girard NE. Through this program, parents and caregivers receive hands-on instruction from certified child-passenger safety technicians who will examine each child safety seat for correct use, installation and recalls. This service is free and there will be fun safety activities on hand for children. To make an appointment, call 272-5314.

UNM College of Nursing earns top 10 ranking in national evaluation

Nearly 190 U.S. nursing schools accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing were evaluated according to their 20-year ROI per-credit tuition rate based on Payscale’s 2015 report, U.S. News & World Report’s national rankings, and credit per hour tuition rate as reported by each individual college.

Offensive and inappropriate comments related to the death of a Rio Rancho police officer recently appeared on a social media site under the account of a person purporting to be a UNM Hospital employee. However, the person who posted these hateful comments is not a UNM Hospital employee or associated with UNMH. The leadership, staff and faculty at the UNM Health Sciences Center and UNM Hospital find the posts sick and appalling, and they in no way reflect UNMH’s deep respect for law enforcement, our values or our commitment to providing the best possible care to all of our patients.
