Albuquerque community helps brighten holidays

UNM Children’s Hospitals thanks supporters for generosity

The Albuquerque community rallied this weekend to help support children at UNM Children’s Hospital.

Each year, UNM Children’s Hospital gives toys to children who are being treated at its facilities and clinics during the holiday season, and this year toys were in short supply. The number of dolls, games, toys and other items donated since Friday could fill three 100-square-foot storage units.

“We are so thankful to Albuquerque,” says Kathryn Richards, associate development director for Children’s Miracle Network. “The outpouring of support from individuals, families, children and businesses has been amazing. We cannot thank the community enough for its generosity during this holiday season and helping us make the holiday brighter for our patients.”

Anyone who would still like to donate a toy to UNM Children’s Hospital after the holidays can call the UNM Foundation at 505-277-4503 to schedule a toy delivery time.
