The Art Program of the University of New Mexico Hospital presents a group exhibition from seven Southwest fine art tapestry masters, “State of the Art: Tapestry in the 21st Century."
An opening reception will be held for the exhibition, which is now open, on Friday, Dec. 11, from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Jonathan Abrams MD Gallery, located on the 5th floor of University of New Mexico's Hospital's Ambulatory Care Center, 2211 Lomas Blvd. NE. Parking is available in the parking structure on the west side of the hospital.
The seven featured artists include Mary C. Cost, Heather Gallegos-Rex, Linda Giesen, Nancy Lane, Katherine Perkins, Janice Thomson Peters, and Letitia Roller. Their work is exemplary of modern or contemporary tapestry. Each artist has a unique style and vision, but all share the ability to make this old medium fresh and exciting.
"State of the Art: Tapestry in the 21st Century" continues through Feb. 19, 2016. Gallery hours are weekdays 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
