HSC statement on the passing of Sec. Retta Ward

We at the UNM Health Sciences Center are deeply saddened by the news of Secretary Retta Ward’s passing. She was an excellent and experienced leader who was passionately devoted to serving the public. She was truly a pleasure to work with on the board of the Office of the Medical Investigator and as Secretary of Health. With her natural grace and confidence, she put others at ease and had a wonderful knack for bringing people together. She will be greatly missed, but her memory will remain in the many hearts of the many she touched.
