UNM School of Medicine 50th Anniversary
The University of New Mexico School of Medicine, which opened in 1964, is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year.

The public can get an inside look at state-of-the-art medical training facilities and research labs Friday, when the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center opens its doors to the public.

The open house, which is free and runs from 10 a.m.-noon, is part of the UNM School of Medicine’s 50th anniversary celebration and is running in conjunction with UNM’s campus-wide homecoming festivities.

The event will include tours of the HSC’s medical simulation and research labs, the Clinical and Translational Science Center and more. The UNM School of Medicine’s 50th anniversary exhibit will also be open to the public, and the school will be screening a mini-documentary, “Courage and Compassion: Celebrating 50 Years of Excellence.”
