The Communications and Marketing Department at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center was honored this month by the New Mexico chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, taking home a gold and two silver awards from the organization’s 2014 Cumbre Awards dinner. The annual competition recognizes outstanding strategic public relations work by communications professionals across the state.

The HSC’s communications team received a gold award in the media relations tactics category; a silver award for its online news portal, HSC Newsbeat; and a silver award for the annual research report, a publication highlighting pioneering research taking place at the HSC.
