Roth to discuss NM opioid abuse on KNME's "New Mexico in Focus"

Paul Roth, MD, chancellor for Health Sciences at the University of New Mexico, will join U.S. Attorney Damon Martinez to talk about efforts to stem prescription opioid abuse in our state on this week's “New Mexico in Focus,” KNME’s weekly news-and-public-policy show. The program is set to air at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4 on public television station KNME. It will be rebroadcast at 7 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 6. 

Roth will discuss UNM’s role in working with law enforcement to provide treatment to people with substance abuse problems and the growing use of naloxone, a drug that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
