UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center (SRMC) president and CEO Jamie Silva-Steele is one of a dozen people who will receive the 2014 Governor’s New Mexico Distinguished Public Service Award Dec. 2.
Silva-Steele is an Albuquerque native who received a permanent appointment as the CEO of SRMC in 2014.
She began her health-care career as a pediatric nurse nearly 30 years ago at UNM Hospitals. She has served in a number of positions throughout her career. The award highlighted her work with improving pediatric care throughout UNM Hospitals and extending interpreter services in the system.
The awards will be presented at a gala banquet at the Marriott Pyramid North.
