UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center in Rio Rancho recently received full accreditation for medical services from the Joint Commission.

An independent, not-for-profit organization, the Joint Commission is the nation's oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care and accredits and certifies more than 20,500 health care organizations and programs in the United States. To earn and maintain The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™, an organization must undergo an on-site survey by a Joint Commission survey team at least every three years.

UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center (SRMC) is a community-based academic healthcare facility that is served by both hospital-based UNM faculty physicians and community-based independent physicians. Operating with the mission to improve the overall health of the communities served, SRMC recently was also honored with the Guardian of Excellence Award by Press Ganey Associates for consistently achieving the 95th percentile of performance in patient satisfaction.
