UTEP/HSC partnering to build research training and mentorship

The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) and UNM Health Sciences Center are partnering to build research training and mentorship opportunities for underrepresented groups in the biomedical and behavioral sciences.  The National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities recently awarded a one-year planning grant, which will enable UTEP to develop a plan for creating educational pipeline programs and innovative training initiatives focused on Hispanic health.

The UNM Health Sciences Center provided formal support for the program in the grant application and will serve as a partner for establishing a cross-institutional network to leverage resources to develop interdisciplinary and multi-institutional programs.
