The Supreme Court upheld the vast majority of the Affordable Care Act, allowing every citizen access to insurance coverage which dramatically increases the need to train and retain hundreds of additional physicians and health care professionals here in New Mexico.

The state will also have the opportunity to choose to fully participate in the expansion of Medicaid to cover more people, mostly the working poor. We look forward to working with the state legislature and the Governor as we move forward towards improving health care for all New Mexicans.

UNM Health Sciences Center will continue toimplementimprovements to thedelivery systemto prepare for theAffordable Care Act and for the future.
