Andrew Weil, M.D., to Speak on "Healthy Aging" at Public Lecture and Book Signing


            The UNM School of Medicine and the Section of Integrative Medicine will host a public lecture by acclaimed best-selling author and pioneer in integrative medicine, Dr. Andrew Weil.

            Weil will speak on "Healthy Aging" at the Sheraton Old Town at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 15.   The talk is also being sponsored by Borders Books, Spectrum Organics and Whole Foods.

Weil is widely known for his best selling books such as Eight Weeks to Optimal Health and Spontaneous Healing: How to Discover and Enhance Your Body's Natural Ability to Maintain and Heal Itself and numerous national television appearances.  He received both a degree in botanical biology and a medical degree from Harvard.  He currently is director of the Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson where is also a clinical professor of internal medicine.

Proceeds will fund the integrative medicine educational and clinical programs at the UNM School of Medicine.
