Arup Das, M.D., to Serve on National Board

Arup Das, M.D., chief for the Division of Opthamology within UNM School of Medicine Department of Surgery, was recently invited by the National Institutes of Health to serve as a member of the Biology and Diseases of the Posterior Eye Study Section, Center for Scientific Review. His term begins immediately and continues until June 2008.

Dr. Das was chosen because of his demonstrated competence and achievements, publications in scientific journals, his judgment and ability to work effectively in a group. His contribution will afford the opportunity for significant input to the national biomedical research effort.

“The Providers” Documentary Screenings and National Broadcast Debut

The award-winning documentary “The Providers,” featuring UNM School of Medicine alumni Leslie Hayes, MD, Matt Probst, PA-C, and College of Nursing alumnus Chris Ruge, RN, will screen on Saturday, March 30 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m in the UNM Student Union Building (SUB). The national broadcast debut of “The Providers” documentary is set for Monday, April 8 on Independent Lens | PBS.
