CON Associate Professor Named to National Post

Delucas to serve three years on Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation

A. Christine Delucas, DNP, MPH, NEA-BC, associate professor and director of the doctor of nursing practice program at The University of New Mexico College of Nursing, has been named to the National League for Nursing’s Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA). Her three-year term started Jan. 1, 2019.  

Delucas graduated with a doctor of nursing practice degree from the University of San Francisco in 2013, and a master’s in public health from the University of Washington in 1985. She joined the UNM College of Nursing faculty in 2014.  

Since joining UNM, she has served on the Graduate and Curriculum Committee, and currently chairs the Program Evaluation Committee and the UNM Faculty Senate Curricula Committee.  

Delucas, who is retired from the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserves, earned the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, having served in both war and peacetime circumstances.

The CNEA promotes excellence and integrity in nursing education. Its accreditation process respects the diversity of program mission, curricula, student and faculty; emphasizes a culture of continuous quality improvement; and influences the preparation of a caring and competent nursing workforce.
