Darren Braude Named Medical Director of the Year

ALBUQUERQUE , NM Darren Braude, M.D., Medical Director for PHI Air Medical of New Mexico, received the Tim Fleming Medical Director of the Year Award at the 26thAnnual New Mexico Statewide EMS Conference this summer.

Braude became an EMT-B in 1985, an Intermediate in 1987 and a Paramedic in 1991. He graduated with his MD/MPH degree in 1996 and completed a residency in 2000 in Emergency Medicine at UCSF-Fresno. From 2000 forward, Braude has been an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Medicine at UNM Health Sciences Center's School of Medicine. Also in 2000, Braude became medical director for Lifeguard Air Emergency Services.

According to EMS presenter Deb Boehme, Braude's ability to motivate, as well as his commitment, confidence, selflessness, decisiveness and knowledge of EMS and Emergency Medicine, are just a few of the qualities that make him an outstanding honoree.
