FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ALBUQUERQUE — School stresses, divorce, youth depression and how to effectively treat these challenges will be addressed at this year's Dorothy Turner Memorial Seminar on August 20.

The public is invited to attend this day-long seminar at the Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE. General registration is $40, and an additional $10 for professional CEU credits.

Speakers this year include Paul Hopkins, Samaritan Counseling Center Executive Director; Barbara Wasylenki, a medical and clinical social worker; Lance Chilton, M.D., pediatrician; Steve Adelsheim, M.D., psychiatrist; Ann O'Rourke, mid-school teacher; Richard Schwoebel, Ph.D., founder of Survivors of Suicide.

Seminar co-sponsors include the New Mexico Conference of Churches, Tres Rios Area Conference and the Lovelace Sandia Health Systems Nursing Education Office.

The annual seminars are to honor the memory of Dorothy Burgess Turner, a registered nurse who died of breast cancer in 1985, by providing affordable informational presentations related to medical, social and ethical themes to professionals and the general public. The seminars were established in 1987 by Turner's husband, Robert S. Turner, M.D.

For additional information or to register, call the New Mexico Conference of Churches at 505/255-1509 or visitwww.nmchurches.org.
