Dr. Laura Roberts Selected as Editor in Chief of Academic Psychiatry

After a national competitive search process, Dr. Laura Roberts, associate professor and vice chair in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, has been selected as the Editor-in-Chief of Academic Psychiatry.

Academic Psychiatry is the country's premier, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to psychiatric education and professional development in academic psychiatry.

Commenting on her appointment, Dr. Roberts said, "It is a great privilege to work with Academic Psychiatry in this new capacity. The journal fills an important niche in the psychiatric and education literatures, and it has a tradition of mentoring through the authorship and publication process.

Dr. Roberts is a nationally recognized leader in clinical and research ethics and medical education, and she serves as the Director of the University of New Mexico's Institute for Ethics.
