The Credit Union Association of New Mexico will for the second year host The Silver Star Golf Classic, Thursday, June 8 at the Santa Ana Golf Course. Registration for the tournament is $125 per person and includes greens fees, cart, range balls, breakfast burritos and lunch, as well as fabulous prizes and loads of fun for all participants. All proceeds will benefit UNM Children's Hospital.

The Credit Union Association of New Mexico has pledged one million dollars to be raised over the next five years to benefit UNM Children's Hospital, specifically, the Pediatric Emergency Room in the new wing scheduled for opening April 2007. The credit union philosophy of "people helping people" is a mantra that has helped 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals raise more than $40 million dollars nationally for their local "Children's Miracle Network" hospitals on an annual basis.

Children's Miracle Network's "Credit Unions for Kids" program is endorsed by nearly all 50 state credit union leagues and is the charity of choice for America's credit union movement for one simple reason -100 percent of all funds raised go to the local Children's Miracle Network hospital.

As one of the charter members of Children's Miracle Network, UNM Children's Hospital continues to build a strong relationship with our Credit Union Association and many of the credit unions throughout New Mexico. Michelle Bishop-Couch, the director for Children's Miracle Network at UNM Children's Hospital, said, "We are grateful to the credit unions; their involvement highlights to the community, the necessity for additional resources to fund vital programs at UNM Children's Hospital."
