Head Of White House Commission On Alternative Medicine to Speak at UNM Health Sciences Center

WHO: Dr. James Gordon, M.D. Chair, White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine Policy, Director, Center for Mind-Body Medicine in Washington, D.C., and Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Family Medicine, Georgetown University School of Medicine.

WHAT: Gordon will speak about "Integrating Complementary and Mainstream Care: Redefining Norms of Health Care" during Grand Rounds, a weekly continuing medical education opportunity for physicians.

Gordon will talk about the evidence for integrating complementary and alternative therapies into comprehensive health care and the essential elements of self-care and how they can be integrated into conventional health care practice. Participants will gain a conceptual foundation for integrating complementary and conventional therapies.
