HSC Office of Community Affairs Opens Off Campus Office

UNM HSC Office of Community Affairs New Opens Off-CampusOffice With a goal of increasing access and communication, The UNM Health Sciences Center Office of Community Affairs recently opened an office off campus at 1720 Louisiana Blvd. N.E., Suite 300. 

 “We want to be easily accessible to people and we know that navigating the Health Sciences Center campus can be intimidating to people who don’t work or call here regularly, “ said Leah Steimel, director of the Office of Community Affairs. The office is staffed by Patient Systems Specialist Ivette Cuzmar, who can be reached by calling (505) 925-4707. 

The mission of the Office of Community Affairs is to foster collaboration among community and HSC partners to build and sustain healthier communities across the state; promote access to services; and enhance responsiveness and accountability of HSC to patients and community members from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. The office maintains a special focus on uninsured and other vulnerable populations.
