HSC Professor Appointed to National General Medical Sciences Council

Laura Roberts, M.D., associate professor and vice chair for Administration in the UNM School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry, was recently appointed by Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy G. Thompson to the National Advisory General Medical Sciences Council. Roberts appointment will begin immediately and run through December 31, 2005.

The 14-member council reviews research in the basic, medical and behavioral sciences and makes recommendations to the Secretary of Health and Human Services and other department officials on basic, medical and behavioral science investigations and support.
