HSC's Project ECHO Highlighted on National TV

The premier of “Health I.T.: Advancing Care, Empowering Patients” on the Discovery Channel will be Saturday, November 19, at 6 a.m. (MST). The series showcases Project ECHO as a leading-edge project.

Under the Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) model, primary care clinicians – including physicians, nurses, physician assistants and community health workers – are organized into knowledge networks that meet weekly via videoconference to present patient cases. These “virtual grand rounds” are led by UNM HSC specialists who review and discuss the cases with primary care providers and share best practices with them.
