Lena Celestine Chosen as 2005 Employee of the Year

University of New Mexico Hospitals and the UNM Health Sciences Center recognizes Lena Celestine for her outstanding accomplishment as the 2005 Employee of the Year. Celestine was honored with a plaque, a check and a parking space for the remainder of the year.

Celestine began her career at UNM Hospitals in January 2000 on the General Medicine Inpatient Unit. In December 2005, she received her American Academy of Ambulatory Care nursing certification. Currently, Celestine is the charge nurse of the General Orthopaedics Clinic and working towards her baccalaureate degree in nursing with a focus in health care management.

Celestine works well with her fellow co-workers and does an excellent job running a very busy clinic. In addition to creating a positive work environment for the staff and the physicians, she is dedicated to her job and to the patients.
