In addition to representing the university in legal proceedings or supervising such representation, Martinez also will advise the senior leadership of the Health Sciences Center on legal issues of significant importance to center operations. She also will analyze legal and regulatory issues affecting operations, develop institutional policies and supervise and train attorneys and other professional legal staff assigned to the Health Sciences Center.
In private practice for the last one and half years, Martinez also was a partner at the Rodey law firm in Albuquerque and corporate counsel at Presbyterian Healthcare Services.
She has a bachelor's degree from the College of Santa Fe and received her law degree from the University of New Mexico in 1986.
