The University of New Mexico Health System is pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa Romine to the position of director of marketing.
Romine will assume responsibility for planning and executing the marketing strategy for the Health System, the clinical arm of the UNM Health Sciences Center, said Paul B. Roth, MD, MS, Chancellor for Health Sciences and Health System CEO. Romine will report to Michael E. Richards, MD, MPA, UNM’s vice chancellor for clinical affairs and the Health System’s executive physician-in-chief, Roth said.
“Melissa brings a wonderful set of skills to the job,” Roth said. “We are fortunate to have her on board as we work to improve and expand the Health System’s marketing and outreach efforts.”
Romine has served since 2011 as executive director of marketing and outreach at the UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center, a community teaching hospital in Rio Rancho, N.M., which is part of the Health System.
“I’m looking forward assuming these responsibilities and serving the university in this new role,” Romine said. “The UNM Health System does a tremendous job of providing care for people in Bernalillo County and throughout the state.”
Romine joined the Health Sciences Center in 2008, having previously served as a senior account executive at Rick Johnson & Company and as an agency producer for Sterling Productions. She graduated from UNM in 1993 with a B.A. in mass communications and broadcast journalism.
The UNM Health System includes UNM Hospitals, UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center, UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center, UNM’s outpatient clinics and the UNM Medical Group, Inc.
