New Mexico Public Health Association Honoring Two UNM School of Medicine Faculty

 

The New Mexico Public Health Association will honor two members of the UNM School of Medicine Department of Family and Community Medicine, Masters in Public Health Program during the association's annual meeting April 7‑9 in Albuquerque.

Dr. Nina Wallerstein, director of the Masters in Public Health Program in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, has been named to receive the Larrazolo Achievement Award. The Larrazolo Achievement Award is presented to a person who has made a lifetime contribution to public health service with a major impact locally,  statewide and/or nationally

Dr. Howard Waitzkin, professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine Masters in Public Health Program, has been named to receive the Jonathan Mann award.  The Jonathan Mann Award recognizes a lifetime commitment to public health and social justice issues.
