Get ready to reach out to help New Mexico 's kids. It's that time of year again as the University of New Mexico Children's Hospital (UNMCH) prepares for their annual Radiothon, beginning Wednesday, April 27 through Friday, April 29. The three-day event will be held from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. with live broadcasts from UNMCH on 100.3 FM The Peak by morning hosts Jackie and Tony.

Steve Stucker from KOB TV also will be broadcasting the noon news directly from the UNMCH on Thursday, April 28. On-air hosts from several other news stations will join in the event, as well.

Donations collected during the Radiothon will support the purchase of medical equipment and help fund programs that benefit more than 57,000 pediatric patients who are treated at UNMCH annually.

Donations can be made by calling 272-1003 or 1-866-811-1003 during the three-day event. Volunteers will be manning the phones eager to accept donations that will benefit New Mexico 's most precious patients. Individuals wishing to make a donation to UNMCH can also visit The Peak's website at , which provides a secured site to make your donation.

One hundred percent of the donations collected last year directly supported UNMCH efforts to care for children like Stephanie Gonzalez, who suffered from a life-threatening brain injury brought on by a combination of the flu, strep and pneumonia. This year will mark the seventh annual Radiothon for UNMCH and is one of the hospital's largest annual fundraisers.
