The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center (UNM HSC) welcomes its newest faculty member, Robert Quinn, M.D., to the Department of Orthopaedics as an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Quinn, a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Musculoskeletal Oncology, comes to the UNM HSC from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, CT.  He received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, and completed his surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

Quinn also completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Oncology at Harvard Medical School (Massachusetts General Hospital).  Recent accolades for Quinn include being featured in Guide to America's Top Surgeons, published by the Consumer's Research Council of America, and in "Top Docs for Families" in Connecticut Magazine for 2003.

Quinn, who began seeing patients at the UNM Cancer and Research Treatment Center on August 4, is the only Musculoskeletal Oncologist in the state.

Founded in 1972, The Cancer Research and Treatment Center works to reduce the incidence of cancer in New Mexico, to decrease cancer mortality and to contribute to the world's understanding of cancer. The CRTC is formally recognized by the National Cancer Institute and has a staff of 240, including more than 100 physicians and research scientists.
