Steve Lucero, M.D., a 1981 graduate from the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, was elected president of the New Mexico Medical Society at their 118th annual meeting, May 13-14 in Albuquerque. His main duties involve representing the N.M. Medical Society and helping the create society's policies during his one-year term as president.

Lucero, who has a private practice in Santa Fe specializing in urology, performed a residence in general surgery at The Ohio State University before returning to Santa Fe to start his practice.
