On Wednesday, December 13th, New Mexico Business Weekly announced that Sandoval Regional Medical Center (SRMC) was voted as the Best Place to Work in New Mexico in the Large Company category, which includes businesses with 151 or more employees.

More than 130 companies throughout New Mexico were nominated with rankings based on employee surveys. For a company to compete in the competition, a certain percentage of its employees had to take the survey, which they did anonymously. The 10 top-scoring companies in each category were named finalists.

SRMC’s employees are proud of this honor, but were not surprised to see that they were a finalist.

“I love coming to work and it’s a great place to be not only as an employee, but as a patient,” said one of SRMC’s nurses, Tranette Goltz. “It’s an awesome place to work.”

SRMC’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Rogols, MA, MHA, FACHE has attributed the honors to several innovated processes including a rigorous behavioral-based interview.

“A candidate meets with a panel of three to four employees, one at a time as part of the interviewing process,” said Rogols. “Typically, this takes an average of two hours to complete. This process allows each staff member to ask the candidate questions that draw out one’s innate characteristics from their technical abilities.”

This process is used not only for management and business office employees, but also for clinical team members, he said.

“SRMC’s staff shows great leadership, the medical staff is knowledgeable and we all work together to provide excellent patient care,” said SRMC’s nurse, Tami Capone. . “I couldn’t be happier with my teammates and the support that they provide every day.”
