UNM Cancer Research & Treatment Center Sponsors Free Cancer Seminar

The Cancer Research & Treatment Center at the UNM Health Sciences Center and the Jewish Community Center will sponsor a free cancer seminar on Wednesday, July 11 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Ronald Gardenswartz Jewish Community Center, 5520 Wyoming Blvd. N.E.

"Clinical Trials: What They Are and Why Are They So Vital to the Future of Cancer Treatment," will be presented by Dr. Aroop Mangalik. This is the second of a six-part series of free cancer seminars.

The seminars are tailored to those who are newly diagnosed, those in treatment, long-term survivors, caregivers, friends, family and co-workers of cancer survivors or anyone interested.

There are over 55,000 people living with cancer in New Mexico. Many survive with little or no symptoms. These seminars are an effort to help people work through the myths of cancer and live a quality life.

For reservations contact Harriet Kraye, CRTC director of Community Affairs at 272-6794.
