UNM CRTC Names Ian Rabinowitz, MD as Clinic Medical Director

The UNM Cancer Research & Treatment Center (CRTC) is proud to announce that Dr. Ian Rabinowitz has been named the UNM CRTC Clinic Medical Director. He has seven years of experience at the UNM CRTC clinic, with an expertise in oncology.

"Dr. Rabinowitz has a stellar reputation in Albuquerque, and indeed all over New Mexico, which makes him an ideal leader for the UNM CRTC clinic," said Dr. Cheryl Willman, director of the UNM CRTC.

Rabinowitz will help the UNM CRTC move into the next generation of patient care while overseeing clinical operations at the center. He will also continue to see patients as a medical oncologist.

"I am honored to accept this position and hope to maintain and enhance the efficiency of the clinic and provide a positive, nurturing working environment for the faculty and staff," Rabinowitz said.  

 Dr. Rabinowitz and his wife Marina have two children: Joshua, age 9 and Hanna, age 13.

The University of New Mexico Cancer Research & Treatment Center is New Mexico's premier Cancer Center supported by the State and the National Cancer Institute to conduct innovative research and deliver state-of-the-art patient care. The UNM CRTC works to reduce the incidence of cancer in New Mexico, decrease cancer mortality and contribute to the world's understanding of cancer. With a staff of over 300 including more than 150 physicians and research scientists, the UNM CRTC maintains a vigorous clinical research program, participates in clinical trials and compiles and tracks data on all cancer cases affecting the state's diverse population.
