UNM Department of Dermatology Offering BOTOX® and Pulsed Dye Laser Treatments

 The UNM Department of Dermatology and the University Hospital Dermatology Clinic is pleased to announce the availability of two new services for their patients: BOTOX® and the Pulsed Dye Laser.

BOTOX® - the Botox® procedure will be available, effective Monday, March 5, 2005 for a fee of $13.00 per unit (average use is 20-25 units)

The Dermatology Clinic also has acquired the newest and most advanced Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) has been purchased that effectively treats vascular lesions such as:

    • Roseacea
    • Facial or leg veins
    • Scars
    • Psoriasis
    • Periorbital wrinkles (crows feet around the eyes)
    • Port wine stains (even in children)
    • Hemangiomas
    • Angiomas
    • Venous lakes
    • Stretch marks
    • Warts

The award-winning documentary “The Providers,” featuring UNM School of Medicine alumni Leslie Hayes, MD, Matt Probst, PA-C, and College of Nursing alumnus Chris Ruge, RN, will screen on Saturday, March 30 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m in the UNM Student Union Building (SUB). The national broadcast debut of “The Providers” documentary is set for Monday, April 8 on Independent Lens | PBS.
