UNM Foundation Creates New Scholarship Honoring Chancellor Paul Roth
The University of New Mexico Foundation has created a new scholarship in honor of Paul B. Roth, MD, MS, who is retiring at the end of July as Chancellor for Health Sciences.
The purpose of the Dr. Paul and Erin Roth Endowed Scholarship for Health Equity is to increase educational and health equity in New Mexico by providing full tuition scholarships to New Mexican students pursuing MD, physician assistant, advanced practice nursing or pharmacist clinician degrees or tracks at the UNM Health Sciences Center who commit to practicing in the state of New Mexico at the end of their clinical training.
These scholarships will ensure that no one is disadvantaged from achieving their potential because of socio-economic status, that health care providers reflect the communities they serve, and subsequently are more aware of the needs in our community, including those communities with health disparities.
The Roth scholarship will be combined with scholarship funds appropriated by the New Mexico Legislature where applicable to further enhance the impact for the students.
Donations may be made online at the UNM Foundation website.
