UNM Hospital Continuing to Offer Free Flu Shot Clinics


UNM Hospital is continuing to offer free public flu shot clinics this fall including a drive thru clinic this Saturday at the Southwest Mesa Clinic, located at 301 Unser NW.

Altogether, there were eight primary care clinics scheduled this year in October and November.   

“Vaccinations are one of the most effective ways to protect yourself and your family from seasonal influenza," said UNM Hospital Epidemiologist Meghan Brett, MD. "Everyone over the age of 6 months should have a flu shot." 

Hours for all the remaining primary clinics will be from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Shots are available for anyone six months are older.  

Remaining clinic days and locations are:

October 22      DRIVE THRU at Southwest Mesa Clinic, 301 Unser NW

October 29      Lobo Care and Senior Health, 1101-4A Medical Arts Ave. NE

November 5    Southeast Heights Clinic, 8200 Central Southeas

The award-winning documentary “The Providers,” featuring UNM School of Medicine alumni Leslie Hayes, MD, Matt Probst, PA-C, and College of Nursing alumnus Chris Ruge, RN, will screen on Saturday, March 30 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m in the UNM Student Union Building (SUB). The national broadcast debut of “The Providers” documentary is set for Monday, April 8 on Independent Lens | PBS.
