Lauren Cruse,UNM Health Sciences272-3690 ALBUQUERQUE -- UNM Health Sciences Center doctors made a great showing in Albuquerque The Magazine’s annual Top Docs issue, which hit newsstands Friday. The magazine asked 534 physicians who they would refer a loved one to, other than themselves. This year, 164 UNM Hospital and School of Medicine physicians and 27 UNM Cancer Center doctors received votes in 33 specialty categories. HSC doctors made up 36 percent of all the doctors named, up from 33 percent last year. Forty-three percent of the Cancer Center’s 63 doctors received votes. In 12 categories, HSC physicians received half or more of the total votes. Those categories include: hematology, oncology,pathology, pediatrics, psychiatry/psychology, reproductive medicine, rheumatology, vascular, integrative medicine, otolaryngology, urogynecology and pulmonary. The following HSC doctors won top honors in their specialties: R.
