Vogel Elected to American Psychiatric Association Board

           Albert Vogel, M.D., professor emeritus in the Department of Psychiatry in the UNM School of Medicine, was recently re-elected to a second term on the Board of Trustees of the American Psychiatric Association.


Dr. Vogel represents association members in Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming and the western Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.


Dr. Vogel also is an emeritus associate dean for clinical affairs in the UNM School of Medicine and former Chief Medical Officer for the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.


The American Psychiatric Association is a medical specialty society recognized worldwide. Its 37,000 U.S. and international member physicians work together to ensure humane care and effective treatment for all persons with mental disorders, including mental retardation and substance-related disorders.
