The University of New Mexico Medical Group, Inc. has kept its finger on the pulse of what kind of health care people on Albuquerque’s Westside need and has responded by recently opening a cardiology clinic.
The clinic, located at 4808 McMahon Boulevard NW, opened on July 18 and is providing patients a full range of outpatient cardiovascular diagnostic services.
Cardiologist Robert DuBroff, MD, is the clinic’s lead physician and is joined by UNM faculty cardiologist Abinash Achrekar. In addition, a team of board certified cardiologists, specialized technicians, and office staff are on hand using the most advanced equipment and technologies.
The UNM Cardiology Clinic is part of the award-winning UNM Cardiology team at UNM Hospital that has earned several honors and designations throughout the years, including:
- Best in state and highest ranked academic hospital in the nation for heart attack treatment response time. (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and University HealthSystem Consortium)
- New Mexico’s only hospital with Advanced Certification in Heart Failure (Joint Commission and American Heart Association).
- Gold Plus Medal recipient of the 2010 American Heart Association "Get With the Guidelines" – This is the highest level designation for a program designed to ensure that hospitals consistently care for cardiac patients by following the most up-to-date guidelines and recommendations.
