Research funding at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center (HSC) leapt $4.7 million higher than last year to $160,753,570, continuing an upward trajectory. Since 1998, HSC has more than tripled its research grants and contracts, from $45 million to more than $160 million. These federal research dollars, primarily obtained from foundations, private industry and federal sources, provide a significant economic impact in New Mexico.
