Registration is open for the specialty train-the-trainer summit, which will include interactive workshops to provide educators, daycare providers, caregivers, peer coaches, community-based and government agencies, and others with new skills and learning that can immediately be transferred to their jobs, home and communities.

New center would help UNM docs diagnose child abuse

As medical director of UNM’s Child Abuse Response Team (CART), Leslie Strickler, D.O., is one of just a handful of physicians in New Mexico with expertise in diagnosing and treating child abuse. The New Mexico Legislature will consider a proposal during its 2015 session to build upon Strickler's work by creating a new Child Maltreatment Center at UNM.
