“Precious Gems” child abuse prevention gala slated April 23

Recent data culled for 2015 suggests some improvement in New Mexico in the area of child abuse, with sexual abuse decreasing by 4 percent, according to NM-CAPP Executive Director Dr. Susan Miller. Unfortunately, physical abuse increased by 6 percent, and child neglect increased by 21 percent over the same period.

Registration is open for the specialty train-the-trainer summit, which will include interactive workshops to provide educators, daycare providers, caregivers, peer coaches, community-based and government agencies, and others with new skills and learning that can immediately be transferred to their jobs, home and communities.
