The Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation (ARPF) recently committed $200,000 over two years to the University of New Mexico’s Section of Integrative Medicine to support integrative medicine education, scholarship, research and novel approaches to Alzheimer’s disease prevention and treatment.

While David Lang’s professional mission at UNM is to help children relax before intensive chemotherapy or after grueling physical therapy, his personal mission is to raise funds for massage and acupuncture treatments that aren’t always covered by insurance. Some of the most talented young performers in the state are set to take the stage March 7 in Albuquerque for a show that will raise funds for the UNM Center for Life's Integrative Medicine Pediatrics Fund.

Health professionals – and for the first time, the public – are invited to UNM’s Symposium of Integrative Medicine Professionals in the Land of Enchantment – or SIMPLE – Conference, keynoted by Integrative Medicine pioneer Dr. Andrew Weil. As part of the UNM School of Medicine’s 50th Anniversary, the public is invited at a special rate of $150 for the comprehensive three-day event.
