UNM College of Nursing among top Southwest nursing schools

NursingSchoolsAlmanac.com has ranked the UNM College of Nursing 15 out of more than 350 nursing schools in the Southwest U.S. and one of the country’s top nursing schools. Nursing Schools Almanac’s research team evaluated 3,200-plus U.S. nursing schools and campuses based on the breadth and depth of nursing programs, student success, value and other measures.

The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center wrapped up the just-ended fiscal year with a record $165 million in grant funding for biomedical research, representing more than a decade of continuous growth, the university announced Tuesday.

Jonas Center grant to fund scholarships for College of Nursing doctoral students

The University of New Mexico College of Nursing has received a $20,000 grant that will help fund the scholarship of two doctoral nursing students. The award from the Jonas Center for Nursing and Veterans Healthcare is part of an effort to stem a national faculty shortage and prepare the next generation of nurses.

Upcoming HSC Open House features tours, career information, free cake

Participants can learn about medical imaging in radiologic services, participate in an interactive occupational therapy session, see a medical simulation lab and receive a hands-on overview from medical laboratory sciences about tests that help diagnose disease in patients. Tours of various HSC departments will be held 10 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m.
