Dr. Gurdeep Singh Named SRMC Executive Diversity and Well-Being Officer

Gurdeep Singh, DO, has been named Executive Diversity and Well-Being Officer at The University of New Mexico Sandoval Regional Medical Center in Rio Rancho.gurdeep-singh-do.jpg

Singh, a hospitalist at SRMC and assistant professor in the UNM Department of Internal Medicine, assumed the post June 1 and will report to Jamie Silva-Steele, RN, MBA, the hospital’s president and CEO.

“Dr. Singh will be leading efforts for SRMC around diversity and well-being, working closely with other Health System and Health Sciences Center leaders,” Silva-Steele said. “He will also be serving on the HSC Inclusive Excellence Council.”

Singh will be responsible for leading a comprehensive diversity, equity, inclusion and well-being strategy for SRMC that aligns with the UNM Health System’s mission and goals. He will also work with hospital leadership to implement proactive diversity, equity, inclusion and well-being initiatives, both internally and externally.

Singh graduated with a doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Andrew Taylor Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Mesa, Ariz., in 2012 and completed his internal medicine training at Samaritan Health Services in Corvallis, Ore., in 2015. Singh became a diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine in 2015.

Since joining SRMC in 2016 he has occupied key leadership positions and received accolades for his clinical care and leadership.
