More than $147,000 donated to UNM Children’s Hospital

New Mexico showed up in a big way for The University of New Mexico’s Children’s Hospital donating more than $147,000 during 100.3 The Peak’s Radiothon this year and cumulatively, over the past 20 years, donating more than $5.5 million dollars!

As the state’s only dedicated children’s hospital, UNM Children’s Hospital helps tens of thousands of kids and their families every single year. Donations from Radiothon will directly help kids at the hospital through medical equipment, supplies and even the things that bring comfort like toys, arts and crafts and pillows and blankets.

Our youngest patients can build Legos, read books, play music, or video games, or bake and do other activities with their families. When we’re healthy at home, we may take these activities for granted, but for children and teens hospitalized long-term, the chance to do these ‘regular’ activities means everything.

“We are so grateful for the community support we receive through Radiothon,” said Kate Becker, CEO of UNM Hospital. “Being in the hospital is challenging for children and their families, and the donations we receive through Radiothon allow us to create spaces that let kids be kids while they are with us.”
