Essential Volunteer Protocol

First and foremost, thank you to all of the providers who have volunteered to assist asylum seekers recently brought to Albuquerque.

An important reminder: If you would like to volunteer, you must do so through the HSC External & Community Affairs office. Please reach out to Chamiza1@salud.unm.edu or JesKelly@salud.unm.edu for volunteer information. Going through the proper channels ensures that you'll get the correct paperwork, and will continue to be covered under the HSC medical malpractice protection while serving the needs of this population.

Whether it be asylum seekers, the homeless, the impoverished or anyone else in our community, our core mission at the HSC is to care for those in need. To all the volunteers, your resolve and dedication to this mission has been amazing. It reminds us how lucky we are to work with such caring providers.
