UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center Hosting January 16 Ribbon Cutting

Three New Clinics Opening on West Side

UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center (SRMC) will host the grand opening of three new clinics at a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 16.

The newly renovated space is located on the hospital's first floor near the Emergency Department. It will be home to the hospital's Cardiology Clinic, Sleep Disorders Center and Medical Specialties Clinic, according to SRMC CEO Jamie Silva-Steele, MBA, RN.

"We know the medical services moving into the space are needed by the communities we serve," Silva- Steele says. "Being on the first floor of the hospital and close to parking makes the space ideal for patients to obtain the care they need."

Medical specialty clinics within the unit will include Endocrinology, Infusion, Nephrology, Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy and Rheumatology.

The four-bed Sleep Disorders Center was previously located on the hospital's fifth floor. Moving the center to the first floor will be more convenient for sleep study patients and allow the previous space to expand the number of medical inpatient beds on the fifth floor, Silva-Steele adds.

SRMC, which opened in 2012, is a 60-bed community hospital located at 3001 Broadmoor Blvd. NE in Rio Rancho, near the City Center.
